Charter One Bank complaint by Joemama
Charter One has no e-check protection in place. As a matter of fact on my corporate account e-checks were cashed that neither had the correct sequence number nor the correct name on the account. When I complained they stated it would all be taken care of. I received a letter from them stating that because according to them my response wasn't timely it was my fault that someone could cash e-checks on a corporate account with no verification whatsoever. On top of the outrageous fees $6.00 for a money order when the going rate is $0.80 charges to deposit your own cash, ATM charges, and $7.00 for a business to get a cashier's check-stay away from this leper!

I worked for Charter One for years before they got bought out. I was in IT and they treated IT people fine. The problem I saw was when visited branches. Those people were always under a lot of pressure to sell new products.
